Our second 'At Home' at Abergynolwyn was a great success - once more a large number of members attended and the weather was warm and sunny.

The beekeeper - Alan - was starting to get swarms, so the afternoon gave a great deal of practical experience on dealing with them. Indeed, one swarm had just taken up residence in a bait hive put on the top of a shed. Some brave (foolhardy?!) members climbed on to the roof to check it out.

A number of Alan's hives contained large numbers of queen and drone cells, so his bees seem to want to swarm!

Many thanks to Alan and Liz for having us for an 'At Home' and to Liz for her superb catering!
