Top Tips for April....

  • As soon as it's warm enough (16ºC) start inspections of each of your hives and check:
    1. Is the queen laying?
    2. Is the hive building up?
    3. Does the colony have enough space?
    4. Is there enough food for the time being?
    5. Are there any queen cells?
    6. Are there any signs of disease?
    If necessary take appropriate action.

  • Make sure you have thought about which swarm control method you are going to use and you have the necessary equipment ready.
